Hi! My name is Michelle, and I am a (gasp!) knitting college student. Although I’m sure it will readily become apparent, I’m not quite sure I want the ENTIRE world to know exactly where I go to school. Just wait for me to slip up- I’m sure it will happen! At this mystery school I am a Junior and a History major, with a side of Education classes. As you will probably soon see, I’m currently in a bit of a lace phase, but I can always go for casting on a pair of socks, or even the ever-popular impulse sweater- most of which I try and make as cozy as possible.

Even though this whole college thing can make me a bit busy, I’ll try my best to update at least a couple of times a week- hopefully every other day, if possible. I’ll also try to make my posts about knitting, and I’m sure I’ll add in bits and pieces about college life. I might even write a few posts about the difficulty of mixing the two!

  1. Hey! I love reading your blog! I’m a college knitter, too, although my projects are not as advanced as yours. How long have you been knitting? Do you knit alone or is there a club/group on campus?

    • I’ve been knitting since I was a kid- so long ago that I don’t remember learning the basics for the first time! And don’t worry about being advanced; that will come with time. I think I learned how to do everything beyond knit and purl from online tutorials and patterns. I’m definitely more of a solitary knitter. I knit while watching TV or listening to podcasts. There isn’t a group that meets on campus here, unfortunately, but I am considering starting one. How about you?

  2. You should definitely start a group! There’s one in the process of forming on my campus, but I’m not free during the meeting times :(
I’ve been knitting small projects on and off for about 10 years but I’m super interested in knitting now that I’ve started making socks and buying nicer yarns. I’m more of a solitary knitter, too. I knit while watching tv or on the bus. It’s nice knowing that there are other college students out there who like to dedicate a little free time to knitting!

  3. I dedicate all my free time to knitting and hand craft. It’s the best. I’m a hand craft teacher, and where I got this, you would probabely name a college. I haven’t known that there are knitting colleges. Sounds like a lot of fun to me.
